ABOUT US

Chef Horacio Zarazua CHEF HORACIO ZARAZUA
"If the divine creator has taken pains to give us delicious and exquisite things to eat, the least we can do is prepare them well and serve them with ceremony."

Longtime Taos restaurant employees Horacio Zarazua, shown in the photo has become the owners of their own restaurant, La Cueva Café, located a block south of Taos Plaza at the corner of Paseo del Pueblo Sur and Quesnel.

The small restaurant is located in the space that formerly housed Rellenos Café by Antonio's. The couple, originally from Mexico, has years of experience in Taos restaurants such as Graham's Grill, Rellenos and Old Blinking Light.

This is the first restaurant the Zarazuas have owned and operated. "It's something we've always wanted, always dreamed of," said Horacio Zarazua, adding that owning his own restaurant was also a lot of work. Juana Zarazua told that all food at La Cueva is prepared fresh daily and is 100 percent natural.

She also said there are several vegetarian items and the entire menu is gluten-free. Menu items include ceviche Mexicano and enchiladas de camarón enchipotladas, and the Zarazuas said favorite plates include chicken mole enchiladas and fajitas.
